Christmas Eve Day at the Marshall's

We went up to Paul's mom's and dad's house for a few hours. We had a great time making ginger bread houses with the family. I had a lot of fun helping with Trey's, he closely supervised and demanded the little mint chips be put in his mouth on the regular basis.

Brett did a wonderful job with his and once I had the basic structure he totally did the rest. With the cone on top he called it a church house. :)

Wow! I did a good job of supervising!

Ellie enjoyed this too but really just wanted to eat the candy!

So Christmas Eve night we had a simple dinner because we ate so much at Paul's parents we weren't up for a big dinner, so I suggested that we eat some things that people ate back in Jesus's time. This was our version: salami, different cheeses, olives, bread, crackers, tuna fish.

Santa is sure going to like these cookies!

After dinner we made candy cane cookies to leave out for Santa. They were fun to make and the kids liked to play with the dough.
We got the kids ready for bed and made sure that they were asleep before we headed downstairs to get things ready for the next morning. :)

You seriously amaze me (and not just because of your apron-ha!).
